Disney Cruise Line’s new ship, Disney Wish, has been delayed, while the line has extended its operational pause "until at least 6 December".
Wish had been due to be delivered in January 2022. However, deputy chief financial officer Christine McCarthy this week confirmed delivery had been pushed back.
McCarthy said the delay was due to the impact of Covid-19 on shipbuilding at Meyer Werft. No new date has been set for delivery of Disney Wish.
Meanwhile, Disney Cruise Line has cancelled all sailings onboard Disney Fantasy due to depart up to and including 6 December.
Those onboard Disney Dream and Disney Wonder are cancelled up to and including 11 December, and Disney Magic to 12 December.
Disney said the move came as it awaited further direction from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and continued to "refine health and safety protocols" for its return to service.
"Guests booked on affected sailings who have paid their reservation in full will be offered the choice of a cruise credit to be used for a future sailing or a full refund," said the line.
"Guests who have not paid their reservations in full will automatically receive a refund of what they have paid so far. Affected guests and travel agents will receive an email from Disney Cruise Line outlining details and next steps."
